Introducing Hannah Lea…
Who is Hannah?
I’m a fun-loving, hopeless romantic with a passion for all things entertainment. I wear my heart on my sleeve and believe that I was a cowgirl in a past life.
What do you do?
I am a marriage celebrant but I also freelance in television production.
This work is important to me because it is my passion and it never feels like work. I completely enjoy what I do and I feel like it’s what I am meant to be doing in this world.
Why is Confidence important to you?
Having a strong sense of confidence is crucial to your success in this world. Feeling good about yourself, and in your capabilities, is projected on those you encounter. When you feel good, others feel good around you.
Do you ever experience self-doubt? How do you move past it?
I’ve always tried to live by the quote “feel the fear and do it anyway”. I am certainly not a stranger to self-doubt, but I also figure that there’s no reason why I can’t try when someone else has too. Sure, I have moments where I get hit hard with imposter syndrome, questioning myself, but I also don’t want to waste an opportunity due to lack of confidence.
If you need to pick yourself up / give yourself a pep-talk, how do you do this?
Generally I listen to podcasts, which significantly motivates me, and at the moment, The Greatest Showman soundtrack helps!
What does living life confidently mean to you?
Combating fear. It means to be sure within yourself of who you are, and the direction of your moral compass. I’ve always said there is a huge difference between being cocky, and being confident.
Confidence requires no sound, it can be shown through body language and it’s a representation of what’s reflected inside.
Do you set goals? How?
I set goals for my business and personal life. I am not an outwardly competitive person, but I am very competitive with myself. I am consistently giving myself new goals to reach whether it be achieving a new height in my business or simply exercising x amount of times in a week.
I approach goal setting fairly concretely, but I do give myself the space and grace to allow for things to temporarily delay those goals, or a hurdle that leads me on a totally different path. I like structure, but I also move freely with what the universe lays out for me.
How do you stay on track with your goals?
I love love love to do lists. Lists are my life. So, to stay on track I’m consistently making lists of what I want to achieve and I get such satisfaction once I check them off.
How do you celebrate wins?
I celebrate my wins by sharing them with my loved ones, or I reward myself with something fun or tasty.
What are you most enjoying in life?
Right now, I am most enjoying building my Wedding Celebrant business and my home life with my partner. It’s mushy, but we are so very happy.
Any books or podcasts inspiring and motivating you right now?
I LOVE books and podcasts! Big Magic is an incredible book and I’d recommend it to anyone in creative fields. I also recently finished High Performance Habits by Brendan Burchard and that has been transformative. I listen to The Amber Lilyestrom Show, School of Greatness and the Goal Digger podcast every single day.
What is your next project?
I am hoping to launch a podcast very soon!
Finally, any words of wisdom that have resonated most in your life?
My all-time favourite quote is:
The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen nor touched, they are felt in the heart
My personal mantra has also always been to write an extraordinary story, and so I will continue to do so.
