Introducing Hannah Goodfellow…
Who is Hannah?
I’m a 24 year old with a love for sunshine, my family and dancing like a lunatic.
What do you do?
I grow the confidence of small business owners by savvy yet simple training in the areas of styling and social media.
Presenting your business in the right light is essential in building a relationship with your clients/customers. I get so much joy from seeing owners transform or accomplish something they never thought they could with their content or strategy.
Why is Confidence important to you?
It’s only the last year that I have really discovered who I am and felt confident in every aspect of my life. Before then it really felt like a constant struggle. Now that I have confidence, I feel like I have found people who are my true friends and the universe is rewarding me for believing in myself.
Do you ever experience self-doubt? How do you move past it?
Yes, always. I’m an over-thinker and while I don’t do it nearly as much anymore, I find myself sometimes talking myself out of doing something amazing because of what others will think or maybe I might fail. When I do feel self doubt now, I count backwards from 3 to 1 (credit to Mel Robbin’s check out her Secret to Self Motivation on YouTube) and this really helps me in those moments.
What is a hurdle in your life that you have overcome, and how did you do it?
Something that I’ve never shared publicly before is that I was diagnosed with photosensitive epilepsy when I was very young. It changed the direction of my life dramatically because it brought with it very high levels of anxiety and depression. That said, I am forever thankful for my situation, as I am healthy and happy, while I know many others struggle day-to-day to live a normal life.
I don’t know if there is one particular way that I overcame this as a hurdle in my life, as it will probably forever be one, but I just decided that I was going to stop making excuses and start living my life the way I’d always wanted to.
If you need to pick yourself up or give yourself a pep-talk, how do you do this?
Dance… And sing! Always! Seriously though, for someone who gets stuck in their own head a lot with so much talk already going on, I don’t need to say anything else to myself when I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. I just chuck on some tunes and it helps to clear my mind and think straight again.
What does living life confidently mean to you?
Not being afraid to be silly. For so long when I was younger I thought it wasn’t cool to be funny, and because of that I ended holding back a lot of my real personality.
Do you set goals? How?
Yes yes yes! I’m addicted to making not just goals, but creating clear plans and strategies for how I’m going to achieve them. Setting goals is important to me because it helps me stay happy, motivated and calm.
I create smaller goals or tasks rather than huge ones that can overwhelm me – that way I always achieve them and it keeps my mind happy.
How do you stay on track with your goals?
I have a very detailed little planner that I write everything down in and read over constantly to see how I’m going.
How do you celebrate wins?
My family is a massive support and so we always celebrate each other’s wins together with food, laughter and of course there’s alcohol involved.
What are you most enjoying in life?
Honestly. Making money from doing what I love. It’s freaking awesome!
Any books or podcasts inspiring and motivating you right now?
I’m currently reading The Art of Conversation by Judy Apps which is all about changing your life with confident communication!
What is your next project?
I’m just about to launch my YouTube channel where I share more behind the scenes of my work life.. eek! I’m a little nervous!
Finally, any words of wisdom that have resonated most in your life?
I’m a bit of a cheese ball so get ready for it, but my all time favourite is:
Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.
